To provide financial assistance and encourage the focus of education with the undergraduate brothers of the Florida Chi Chapter, the Florida Chi Alumni Association of Sigma Alpha Epsilon in Tampa Bay, Inc. has founded scholarship funds and leadership grants with the financial support of generous alumni.

The Florida Chi Scholarship & Leadership Grant Program:  The focus of this program centers on the Florida Chi undergraduate brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon who display the most outstanding academic achievement. Each applicant must show enthusiastic commitment to the highest ideals expressed in “The True Gentleman,” including exceptional personal integrity while leading chapter, campus activities and notable philanthropic service. 

The Florida Chi Alumni Association of Sigma Alpha Epsilon sees this assistance not only as a gift, but as a profound investment in its own community and in our shared future. The Florida Chi Alumni Association seeks to recognize accomplished students, invest in their potential and assist them in funding their education and leadership potential. Every spring, the Florida Chi Alumni Association awards a number of scholarships. The first scholarship is the $10,000 John P. Lowth Scholarship. This recipient will reflect the highest standards of academic excellence while offering the undergraduate chapter a reflection of true leadership and personal integrity.  The second level of scholarships will be five (5)  $1,000 per school year and may be renewable, provided the recipient conforms to the requirements set forth in the award.

The John P. Lowth Scholarship:

    • $10,000 scholarship.
    • One time (1x) award to one (1) Florida Chi undergraduate brother.
    • Highest academic term GPA in first year of chapter founding.
    • Shows outstanding personal integrity.
    • Lives up to the standards of “The True Gentleman.”

The Florida Chi Scholarship Program:

    • Five (5) $1,000 scholarships awarded annually.
    • Top five (5) undergraduate term G.P.A.’s in Florida Chi chapter.
    • Scholarship can be renewable, as long as applicant qualifies.

The Florida Chi Leadership Grant:

    • Florida Chi undergraduate brothers will be awarded leadership grants funded through this program to attend any one/all of the following Sigma Alpha Epsilon National Office leadership schools/conferences:
      • The John O. Moseley Leadership School.
      • The DeVotie Ritual Institute.
      • The Eminent Archon Institute.
      • Sigma Alpha Epsilon National Convention.

Eligibility.

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled  in University of Tampa.
  • Applicant must be a member in good standing of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon-Florida Chi Chapter at the University of Tampa
  • Applicant must attend college full time (12 credits or more) for the entire academic year.
  • Applicant must be considered a student in good academic standing with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
  • Applicant must returning to the University of Tampa following academic year.
